Smith & Tinker Launches Recharged Version of Popular Digitial Collectible Game, Nanovor

Release of Nanovor 'Evolution' Kicks Off Game Changing Strategy Focused on Convergence of Web and Mobile Play

BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwire - September 13, 2010) -  Smith & Tinker®, the Seattle-based game company for the connected generation, today announced Nanovor Evolution, an all new 3D in-browser version of the Nanovor digital collectible game it released last year. With this release, S&T is solely focused on combining the appeal of digital collectible games with browser-based and mobile device accessibility, and providing players a consistent experience regardless of platform.

Today's gaming audience wants to play how they want, when they want, and across various screens; from mobile devices to social media sites. As a result of this dramatic shift in player's preferences, the industry is moving away from expensive boxed titles tied to a single platform, toward digital distribution of more broadly appealing online games. Smith & Tinker believes this creates tremendous opportunity for the agile game company to become platform agnostic and focus on high quality content accessible from a multitude of devices. Smith & Tinker's dedicated approach to combine the growing consumer appeal of digital collectibles with browser-based web and mobile device accessibility will drive stronger appeal for Nanovor Evolution and future titles in development.

"We're in the entertainment evolution business," said Joe Lawandus, co-founder, Smith & Tinker. "Smith & Tinker has advanced our digital collectible platform to ensure we offer every player complete gaming satisfaction anywhere and everywhere they want to play. To do this we've evolved our Nanovor digital collectible game and all future titles will follow suit."

Nanovor Evolution includes a complete redesign of features that simplify and enhance the game's graphic and battle mechanics while expanding play into overworld exploration, filtered chat and mini-games. Nanovor, released in 2009 and named one of ToyFare's Hot Dozen, introduced kids to a rich fictional world where nanoscopic monsters, known as Nanovor, live and battle on silicon chips deep inside computers. With this new release, Smith & Tinker offers Nanovor fans cutting edge 3D graphics, more immersive game play and plenty of explosive green goo. The game is currently playable on PC and Mac with a complementary Apple mobile platform title in development for release later this year.

"As today's youth have transformed into a 'roaming' audience, game developers need to accept the challenge that no one wants to be told when, where or on what device they can play," said Jordan Weisman, co-founder, Smith & Tinker. "Having spent the past several years getting to know the constantly expanding desires of the tween market, we're unleashing new games, starting with Nanovor Evolution, that give kids exactly what they want -- total access."

In related announcement, Smith & Tinker announced a licensing deal with Marvel Entertainment and its vast universe of characters to create a superhero digital collectible game on Facebook and Apple iOS for release next year.
