Smokey Robinson Tribute to Feature Performances by Music Legends


LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 2, 2014) - The Thalians, "Hollywood for Mental Health," 56th Anniversary Gala chairs, Kira and Bob Lorsch, today announced the musical greats who will perform Smokey Robinson songs for the Motown legend, multi-Grammy® Award winner, and Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famer himself include: Multi-Platinum recording artist Guy Sebastian, multi-Grammy® winning Chaka Khan with siblings Taka Boom & Mark Stevens, Taylor Dayne, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Natasha & "Cheech" Marin, Florence LaRue of the Fifth Dimension, Joy Enriquez, Bobby Arvon and PLAYER, along with Todd Schroeder & the Thalians Orchestra, plus surprise special guests. The all-star tribute show will take place at House of Blues, Sunset Strip, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 benefiting America's wounded warriors of UCLA Operation Mend.

In addition to providing Motown with 27 Top 40 hits with the Miracles ("Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," "The Tears of a Clown") Robinson also wrote, co-wrote, or produced some of the iconic label's biggest hits (The Temptations' "My Girl," Mary Wells' "My Guy"). Smokey went on to a stellar, solo career with such hits as "Cruisin,'" "Being With You" and "Just To See Her."
