"Snowman" Tops Most Popular Searches on World's Largest Christmas Website

FRANKENMUTH, MICHIGAN--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2007) - "Snowman" is Christmas 2007's most popular search term, according to an analysis of more than 500,000 product searches on, the world's largest Christmas store's website.

Despite the popularity of iPods and xBoxes under Christmas trees this year,'s analysis of its Nextopia eComm|Search site search data shows that traditional items such as angels, animals, and Santa motifs retain their popularity as holiday decorating items among American consumers.

According to Lori Libka, Bronner's Media Coordinator, the list shows how consumers balance tradition against pop culture trends and the whimsy of dangling a dog from a tree branch.

"While trendy themes and Jim Shore's artistic creations have soared in popularity in recent years, iconic images of the Christmas season remain as popular as ever," said Libka.

A Window on Christmas Traditions with Site Search offers over 5,000 different trims and gifts online (including personalized items and collectibles), making it a perfect adopter of dedicated site search technology. The addition of Nextopia's eComm|Search in late October has enabled Bronner's to monitor customer demand, uncover patterns, and respond with short-term promotions and site merchandizing.

"This is the first holiday retailing season that we've been able to track both the big picture and small details of consumer wants and behaviors," Libka noted. "By quickly implementing Nextopia in October, we've been able to generate hard data, confirm the popularity of traditional items and, yet, track the continued rise of branded items like Jim Shore's merchandise."
