SNS FiRe Conference Names Nantero a 2015 FiReStarter Company

Global Thought Leaders Converge to Work on Solving Some of the World's Greatest Challenges in Real-Time

FRIDAY HARBOR, WA--(Marketwired - Mar 23, 2015) - Strategic News Service (SNS) is proud to announce that Nantero has been selected as a 2015 FiReStarter company to be featured at the 13th annual Future in Review (FiRe) conference. Described by The Economist as "the best technology conference in the world," FiRe features global thought leaders in technology and the global economy, including Elon Musk, Craig Venter, Michael Dell, Vint Cerf, Leroy Hood, Patti Grace Smith, Mark Hurd, Paul Jacobs, and many others. FiReStarters are selected based on the strength of their innovations and their potential to bring positive change to the world, and are showcased at an exclusive investor reception at the FiRe conference, in panels throughout the event, and with ongoing relationships introduced and supported by SNS.

Nantero has developed the next generation of memory using carbon nanotubes. Nantero's memory is called NRAM, a high-density, fast, low-power, nonvolatile Random Access Memory, capable of replacing DRAM and flash memory in both standalone and embedded applications. The potential applications for the nonvolatile memory Nantero has developed are extensive and include the ability to enable instant-on computers and to replace the memory in consumer devices such as smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, wearables, IOT, and more, as well as many applications in the networking and enterprise systems arena. Nantero has over a dozen major customers for whom it is working in multiple production semiconductor fabs, and recently raised $31.5M in funding, for a total of $78.1M to date.

"A fast nonvolatile memory scalable to very high densities such as NRAM enables new features in existing devices and systems, and potentially even the invention of new devices and system architectures, just as flash memory enabled smartphones, tablets and SSDs," said Greg Schmergel, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Nantero. He continued, "Our efforts are focused on bringing the memory to market together with our many partners, and I am excited to participate in this conference with thought leaders who will have many innovative ideas about how to use it."

"This year, FiRe will include turning to the global leaders in next-generation processor and memory design to come up with a revolution in computing. Nantero's bold approach to changing the most basic materials in chips should provide a terrific start to this process. We are delighted to have Nantero joining us at FiRe 2015 as a FiReStarter company," said Mark Anderson, FiRe Chair and CEO of the Strategic News Service.
