SoapBox Secures $3M to Power "The High Performance Workforce"

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - October 14, 2015) - SoapBox, an enterprise SaaS company, today announced a $3-million seed round led by SBNY (formerly SoftBank Capital), Golden Venture Partners, and Accomplice (formerly Atlas Ventures).

SoapBox provides a software platform that connects business leaders with the insights of frontline employees, a longstanding challenge now overcome thanks to the Toronto-based startup's intuitive, mobile-first software and accompanying services. This exchange of ideas increases employee engagement, improves business performance, and strengthens company culture.

"Thanks to our amazing clients and world class team we're starting an exciting new chapter in our story," said co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Brennan McEachran. "This funding adds fuel to what's already working -- we've doubled our team size in the last six months and landed major new customers in the U.S. It also opens up further growth possibilities."

The primary use of the funding is to expand sales, marketing, and client success efforts to keep up with market and client demands. SoapBox will continue to invest in platform development and expansion.

"We are thrilled to partner with SBNY, Golden Venture Partners, and Accomplice. These firms have a proven track record of helping build large, important tech companies -- which is exactly what we do here at SoapBox."

The SoapBox platform enables companies to engage their workforce and gain insights that help improve performance in a way that wasn't previously possible.

"Today's employees, especially millennials, want to work at a company that listens to its employees," said Brennan. "By providing a way for employees to collaborate vertically with leaders who can actually make change, we are helping companies adapt to the demands of a changing workforce."

"We've established ourselves with our ideas platform, and now we have an opportunity to scale up even more."

"We're excited to be working with SoapBox," said Josh Guttman, Partner at SBNY. "They're a uniquely talented team with a product that is at the right place and time to help large organizations drive peak performance across their workforce."

SoapBox previously secured funding from the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, Ryerson Futures Inc., Ontario Centres for Excellence and Mike McDerment, CEO and Co-Founder of FreshBooks.
