Soapstone Networks Announces Appointment of Donald Wadas as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations

BILLERICA, MA--(Marketwire - October 16, 2008) - Soapstone Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: SOAP) today announced that Donald Wadas has joined the Company as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations with responsibility for heading Soapstone's global sales and services organizations. Mr. Wadas joins Soapstone Networks from Brix Networks where he was responsible for leading the worldwide sales and customer support organization, focused on selling converged service assurance solutions to tier one and tier two carriers globally. Mr. Wadas was also instrumental in the sale of Brix to EXFO Inc. earlier this year. Mr. Wadas joined Brix following a successful 27 year career where he was responsible for leading sales organizations at companies such as Telcordia, Granite Systems, Level 3 Communications, and AT&T Paradyne.

Before joining Brix Networks, Mr. Wadas was Global Vice President of Sales at Telcordia Technologies where he was responsible for Next Generation OSS products. Prior to that Mr. Wadas served as Vice President of Sales at Granite Systems, preceding its acquisition by Telcordia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wadas served in a range of executive assignments where he was responsible for the sales of a variety of broadband based services and solutions.
