Sobeys Deal From Dealicious.ca Sells Out in Record Time

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 28, 2011) - In the first test of the power of daily deals from a national grocery chain, Sobeys has launched a promotion with Dealicious.ca promoting its Sobeys Urban Fresh brand in Toronto.

The online promotion was a tremendous success and was so popular that it sold out by noon. 1,000 lucky Torontonians paid only $20 to get $40 worth of groceries at the Sobeys Urban Fresh Front Street location.

"We capped the Sobeys deal at 1,000 vouchers because that made sense for Sobeys. They want to promote their Front Street location, and with this deal they are guaranteed to get 1,000 people shopping at that store. That makes sense. Selling 10,000 vouchers for one store would not make sense and would be irresponsible," said Kokolakis.
