Social Gifting Goes Mobile With Launch of giftiki iPhone App

Collaborative Commerce Platform Also Announces New Product Upgrades to Enhance the giftiki Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 1, 2011) - Giftiki, the collaborative gifting engine which launched in October, today announced a new iPhone App along with significant new upgrades to its product. The new free app provides groups of friends a fun, interactive and easy way to gift each other without breaking the bank. A unique experience for app lovers, the giftiki iPhone App delivers instant birthday notifications, a birthday newsfeed of gifts sent and received, while allowing users to set a reminder to send gifts on a recipient's special day.

Giftiki is also launching a new function that allows users to invite their friends to gift a specific individual. After selecting an amount to gift, wrapping, and sending a giftiki, a pop up window will appear that shows the giver what friends they have in common with the individual they just gifted. Users can then choose friends and write a personal message that invites them to join and chip in. This message posts to Facebook enabling more people spread the love.

"We are pleased to be launching another way for people to give their friends what they really want," says Justin Stanislaw, CEO of giftiki. "Gift-giving occasions don't always fall on days and times when we are sitting at a computer, so now people can gift their friends wherever they are or whatever they may be doing."

Giftiki is a fun, interactive way for individuals whose social network is larger than their budget to send and receive gifts. Users join quickly and easily through Facebook, automatically pulling in their friends and birthdays. Givers choose a friend and decide on an amount to give -- anywhere from $1 to $10 -- lock in the amount and send the gift with a personal message and icon of their choosing. The idea is quite simple, a friend throws in a few bucks over here, other friends do the same, and soon enough the recipient has enough money to redeem with an American Express gift card, on or with a gift card for select retailers, including: Macy's, Starbucks, the Sports Authority and The Cheesecake Factory.

"Our new iPhone app allows for impulsive and quick social gifting that won't hurt your wallet and doesn't feel like you're sending money," says Bryan Jowers, CTO of giftiki.
