CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2011) - The Calgary Social Media Breakfast (SMBYYC) committee is excited to announce that Christina Greenway, Social Media Manager from Franco Media, is this month's guest speaker. Franco Media is a great representation of a local company that has been rocking the internet "tubes" with innovative usages of social media.

The Calgary chapter of SMB has been established for over a year, and has covered an array of topics from how to use social media tools, to how to manage crisis communications online and more. Now, SMBYYC is bringing something new to the mix. It's time to start generating ideas that spin off the traditional media highway into a playful land full of innovative possibilities. It's time to discuss and discover, "How to Put the Creative into Social Media."

Seating is limited and fills up quickly so hurry to book your place on Eventbrite.com. Seats will be released in increments to give everyone fair access to the event. 50 seats will be available immediately and 50 more will be released on Monday, February 14th at 12:00 PM.

About SMBYYC

The SMBYYC houses an open environment to share today's best and worst examples of social media, as practiced by individuals, industries and organizations in Calgary and around the world. Guest speakers share their experience and expertise of social media use, followed by an opportunity to network with a community of like-minded individuals.

For those who don't know, a SMBYYC committee has been assembled. It's not one of those, "What we say goes" kind of committees, it's more like a, "we are here to listen, help, and communicate" kind of committees. Please feel free to contact any of the members to talk about future SMBYYC breakfasts, questions regarding social media, or if you would just like to chat about the latest digital gadgets and gizmo's - they are all self proclaimed digital geeks, and love tweet-versations.
