The Society of Manufacturing Engineers: Western Manufacturing Technology Show Returns to Edmonton, June 16-18, 2009

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 26, 2009) - The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) presents the Western Manufacturing Technology Show (WMTS) at Northlands AgriCom in Edmonton, Alberta, on June 16, 17 and 18, 2009. Held every two years in Edmonton, WMTS is the major forum for 3,000 Albertan manufacturing professionals to source machinery, equipment, supplies and services for all aspects of their operations.

The event showcases products ranging from machine tools, welding equipment (under the WeldExpo Canada banner), design engineering and plant maintenance to process control and automation. WMTS is dedicated to helping industry professionals address production challenges and learn best practices to help their businesses thrive. The event is produced by SME, in partnership with the Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association (CMTDA), Canadian Tooling and Machining Association (CTMA), and Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME).

- Town Hall Experience - Wednesday, June 17, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

An interactive panel featuring Duane Hertzer, Optima Manufacturing (Rodney), John Zhou, Alberta Research Council, and Gary Loblick, Toll Industries and Winslow Group, will discuss "How do you Manage Manufacturing Operations in a Rollercoaster Commodity Market?" and will be moderated by Robert Moore, QGI Consulting Group.
