Society of Payment Security Professionals, University of Delaware Offer Online Data Protection Courses

PARK CITY, UT--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - The Society of Payment Security Professionals (SPSP) is proud to announce a partnership with the University of Delaware to provide data security and PCI DSS related eLearning to the University's students. The SPSP will provide six eLearning modules that will comprise the data security course being offered by the University's Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management Department, a department within the Lerner College of Business & Economics. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate in Data Protection.

The SPSP created the following courses that will support the University's program:

1) Introduction to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard

2) Data Breach and Forensic Overview

3) Introduction to Data Security

4) Preventing Data Compromise

5) Preventing Payment Card Fraud

6) Compliance and Card Brand Rules

The SPSP's Founder, Chris Mark, CPISM/A, CISSP, CIPP, explained the relationship: "The University provides a valuable education on the business and management of the Hospitality Industry. Dorian J. Cougias, Founder and Lead Analyst of the Unified Compliance Framework, the current IT Advisory Board Chairman of the University's HRIM department, and a fellow participant of the Payment Card Industry's Security Standard's Council, is thrilled with the launch of this online program. The course will be available for the Winter Semester of 2009. Students must enroll through the University of Delaware.
