Socket Mobile Announces Latest Software Development Kit -- SocketScan 10 -- and Launches Developer's Compensation Program

NEWARK, CA--(Marketwire - October 26, 2010) - Socket Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announced the availability of SocketScan 10, an updated version of its popular SocketScan keyboard wedge software, which includes 2D barcode support for the Socket Bluetooth® Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) Series 7 portable barcode scanners, and offers developers improved customization for creating mobile applications through the Software Development Kit (SDK). SocketScan 10 is a highly versatile barcode scanning software tool that enables developers to add commercial-grade rapid and robust barcode scanning capabilities to their smartphone, tablet, notebook and desktop applications.

In conjunction with the launch of the SDK, Socket has announced a beta Developer's Compensation Program designed to reward developers who integrate support for the CHS products into their applications and recommend the CHS for use with their software.

SocketScan Availability
SocketScan 10 will be available for download on the Socket Mobile support site beginning on Nov. 1, 2010 with the SDK available for purchase online and through distribution beginning on Nov. 15, 2010. OS support initially includes BlackBerry OS 5, Windows® Mobile 6 and Windows® XP/Vista/7 -- including the new HP Slate 500 Tablet PC.
