Socrato Introduces ISEE Test Diagnostic Reports

Continues to Expand Support for Exams for Its Learning Analytics Software

NORTH ANDOVER, MA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2010) - Socrato introduces the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) to its library of testing material. Tutoring companies and students can now use the Socrato learning analytics software (http://www.socrato.com/) to create diagnostic reports assessing a student's performance on the ISEE test allowing them to focus on weaknesses and improve exam scores.

Similar to the ACT, the ISEE is an admissions test administered by the Educational Records Bureau (http://erblearn.org/) for students applying to independent schools in the US. The ISEE features three levels of examination based on grade level: lower level for entrance into grades 5-6, middle level for entrance into grades 7-8, and upper level for entrance into grades 9-12. All the examination levels consist of five sections in which the students are tested on verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics, and writing skills.

Socrato's individual and group diagnostic reports provide insight beyond basic practice scores enabling tutoring centers to create personalized learning strategies for students and coaching strategies for tutors. The Socrato ISEE test diagnostic report generates a detailed assessment of the student's strengths and weaknesses by subject, category and even by the question, and can be used after each practice session. By using the Socrato software in preparation for the ISEE test, tutors can determine exactly how many hours of tutoring they will need and in what areas they need to focus with their students.

Most tutoring centers still use the traditional paper and pencil based ISEE test. The Socrato software allows them to grade, score and scale their students ISEE tests, converting the data into helpful web-based diagnostic reports that can be branded with the tutoring center's logo. The use of Socrato saves tutoring companies both time and money customarily spent on manually assessing their students' tests and calculating their scores.

Socrato does not distribute the ISEE tests or questions directly as they are the copyright material of the publishing organization. However, Socrato's proprietary taxonomy allows for Tutors and Educational Consultants to use the Socrato software to create performance reports along with the tests contained in the official books purchased by the tutors.

The latest addition of the ISEE test is part of Socrato's continuing strategy to provide learning analytics for any kind of standardized test prep.
