SodaStream and the Water Brothers Encourage Canadians to #SayNoToBottledWater

Blue Ribbons at Queen's Park Display a Show of Solidarity With Wellington County

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - October 14, 2016) - Canada's favourite water ambassadors, Alex and Tyler Mifflin, The Water Brothers, joined SodaStream at Queen's Park today to remind morning commuters about the importance of water conservation and access to clean, safe municipal water. Blue ribbons marked with the message #SayNoToBottledWater were handed out and wrapped around trees at Queen's Park as a statement of solidarity with the community in Guelph and Wellington County.

"SodaStream is excited to partner with the Water Brothers to encourage Ontarians to stand together with the people of Wellington County in the fight to protect our water, instead of buying it back from bottling companies," said Rena Nickerson, General Manager, SodaStream Canada. "One SodaStream machine can replace more than 1,460 disposable bottles per year while keeping its owner hydrated with delicious, sparkling water."

"In Ontario, bottling companies pay virtually nothing for extracting one of our most valuable resources; it's time for the people of Ontario to tell the Premier that the current permitting system is not acceptable," said Alex Mifflin, award winning writer and co-host of The Water Brothers. "We're happy to see businesses like SodaStream stepping up and joining the conversation in promoting tap water and driving awareness and action for such a great cause."

Get involved! #SayNoToBottledWater and embrace water from the tap -- flat or sparkling -- at home or on the go, using refillable water bottles. Visit www.saynotobottledwater.com to sign a petition asking Premier Wynne to protect Ontario's water and ensure extraction doesn't affect communities' access to drinking water.

To continue support of important advocacy work, SodaStream is donating $5 for the next 1,000 machines sold in Ontario back to water advocacy groups.
