Softchoice Corporation (TSX:SO), a leading North American provider of IT solutions and services, is delighted to announce it has been named Microsoft's 'Software Asset Management Partner of the Year'.

"Technology partners are at the core of Microsoft's business and we've always relied upon their commitment to infinite possibilities to provide the foundation for delivering truly innovative solutions to the marketplace," said Corinne Sharp, National Director, Canadian Partner Network, Microsoft Canada Inc. "We are pleased to celebrate the outstanding solutions of industry leaders like Softchoice."

Softchoice was given the honor in recognition of the value the Company has provided more than 1600 organizations in helping to reduce the costs and risks associated with software license management. Of particular note was Softchoice's new IT Asset Management-as-a-Service offering. The first of its kind, Softchoice's ITAM-as-a-Service offering includes access to an online repository and analysis engine as well as one-on-one consultations with certified ITAM consultants. Through this approach Softchoice has eliminated the need for customers to invest in specialized tools or add expert resources by combining all the elements of an effective IT Asset Management strategy in a single affordable package.

"This honor reflects our focus on providing solutions that integrate the nuts and bolts of an effective ITAM program," said Dean Williams, Services Development Manager for Softchoice. "Softchoice's ITAM-as-a-Service gives organizations everything they need in one package – from easy to use reporting and benchmarking tools to direct access to industry ITAM experts. Essentially we take care of the elements that cause the most headaches so IT departments can focus on improving the management of their environment."

The eighth annual IMPACT Awards recognize excellence within the Microsoft technology partner community in Canada as well as the innovative solutions and value they deliver to customers. This is the third time Softchoice has won the award for Software Asset Management Partner of the year.
