Softek Reports Record Quarterly New License Revenue as Independent Company

Achieves Fifth Consecutive Quarter of NLR Growth and Positive EBITDA

VIENNA, VA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 21, 2005 -- Softek™ Storage Solutions, the leader in non-disruptive data migration software, today announced record revenues during the first quarter of fiscal year 2006, ending June 30, 2005, its highest since becoming an independent company in April 2004. The company also reported positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), which was also a first since becoming independent.

First quarter new license revenues grew nearly 10 percent over the prior quarter, and were up 22 percent over the prior year's quarter. It was the company's fifth consecutive quarter of growth in new license revenues, driven by the company's data migration and data replication offerings, particularly in open systems products. Mainframe new license revenues increased significantly over the prior year's quarter. As well, customer satisfaction remained high, with maintenance renewal rates in excess of 95 percent.

Softek enjoyed a healthy channel mix during the first quarter, with more than 50 percent of revenues sold through the company's original storage manufacturer (OSM) partners, which include EMC, Fujitsu, HP, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM and StorageTek. Channel partner revenue for the quarter was well balanced between mainframe and open systems offerings. Notable new partners include Milford, Connecticut-based Eastern Computer Exchange Inc., who will be offering Softek's data availability solutions for mainframe and open systems.

Softek continued to enhance its open systems data replication and mainframe data recovery solutions during the quarter, releasing new versions of Softek Replicator for Windows and Softek Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager. The company also received accolades for its storage area network management software, Softek SANView, which was a finalist for a Well Connected Award from Network Computing.

"Results from the first quarter place Softek on solid ground for realizing significant growth during fiscal year 2006, which runs through March 2006," said Steven Murphy, President and CEO. "Softek remains the defacto leader in on-line data migration and replication across both mainframe and open systems environments. With our OSM and channel partners, a solid customer base and established products, we are well positioned for the future to build upon our vision for meeting customers' urgent needs to see, move and recover their data."
