Softub Canada Celebrates 15 Years of Proven Success Attention: Home/Garden Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor SUDBURY, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 8, 2005) - The 15 year history of Softub Canada is filled with all of the elements of a "small-town" Canada inspirational success story. Sudbury, Ontario is situated approximately 400 km north of Toronto, Ontario and is the home of Softub Canada. Softub Canada is gearing up to celebrate 15 years of successful business.
Though the Softub concept was conceived by two engineers in California in the mid 1980s, success has been achieved in Canada since 1990. Softub was first introduced to Canada after a chance discovery of the original product by Rob Chaput, a Sudbury resident and business owner on vacation in Florida in 1989. He was so impressed with the product that he contacted the inventor and obtained exclusive rights for Canadian manufacturing and distribution. Two business partners, Lee Tremblay and Wayne Fraser joined him in the venture resulting in the birth of Softub Canada.
Since its inception, Softub Canada has grown from a company employing the labour of 3 partners and 2 employees in a small warehouse in Val Caron (outside of Sudbury) with
9 dealer retail locations, to its current 23,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Sudbury, Ontario, employing 30. There are now over 120 dealer locations across Canada with sales approaching $5M annually. Sales growth of over 900% since its inception in 1990 has earned Softub Canada the distinction of being placed #74 on the top 100 list of Canada's fastest growing companies by 'Profit' magazine's annual poll. This overwhelming growth has resulted in other awards including Company of the Generation 2000 (Northern Ontario Business Awards), Entrepreneur of the Year 2000 (Sudbury Chamber of Commerce), Best After-Sales Service Company 2000 (SIMA Group Co-op) and Softub 140 has been named a Consumer's Digest Best Buy (Consumer Digest Magazine).
Softub's unique and trendy appeal has not gone unnoticed by the entertainment industry. Over the past several years, Softub has gained popularity with television and big screen producers. Having appeared in television series such as VIP, The Single Guy and Seinfeld and movies like Revenge of the Nerds, Softub continues to be the hot tub of choice for trend setters.
The secret for this success lies in the unique design of the product itself. Softub is completely portable and can be set up anywhere in only 15 minutes. With no need for complicated plumbing or wiring, Softub hot tubs can be plugged into any standard 110v wall outlet. Its lightweight portability and durable construction have inspired adventure seekers and comfort lovers alike to take Softub anywhere they wish to enjoy the comforts of soaking in a hot tub: the cottage, the house boat, indoors or outdoors with ease and economy. Softub features a patented heat recovery system which heats the water with energy produced by the pump motor resulting in very low energy needs. The average heating cost to operate a Softub hot tub is between $5 and $15 per month. It is no wonder that they are growing in popularity among Canadians of all ages.
To celebrate their 15th Anniversary, Softub Canada will be offering a number of manufacturer's gifts and incentives throughout the entire fiscal year, September 2005 to August, 2006.
