SOHOware Outdoor Wireless Solutions Offer Cost Saving With Integrated 5GHz Wireless Backhaul

Integrated Bridges and Access Points Lower Outdoor Wireless Deployment Costs for MDU, Hotel and Resort Properties

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 11, 2007 -- SOHOware, Inc., a Wireless LAN pioneer and a key vendor of Business Wireless Networking recognized by prestigious WLAN market research firms such as In-stat and Infotech, offers an integrated Outdoor Wireless solutions that help WISPs and other Service Providers quickly deploy public Internet access at multi-dwelling (MDU), hotel and resort properties. The AeroExtend family further enhances SOHOware's integrated MDU solutions by adding dual band outdoor wireless capability, combining robust 5.8GHz backhaul trunks with simultaneous 2.4GHz Wi-Fi access. Two radios in each AeroExtend device provide dedicated bandwidth to the access point and wireless backhaul offering multiple benefits; Installations require fewer devices, provide a more visually discrete solution and reduce initial capital investment.

The demand by tenants and guests for wireless Internet access has presented both opportunities and challenges to mid-size Service Providers and VARs. They recognize their competitive advantage over traditional Telco operators in offering more affordable subscriber models, but as yet find it difficult to source MDU solutions that seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor wireless, security, AAA, and options for network trunking. Instead, Service Providers have had to make substantial investments in time and technical resources, not to mention business risk, absorbing the job of technology integrator to solve project requirements. SOHOware eliminates this risk. Through its integrated solution portfolio, SOHOware enables small and medium Service Providers and VARs to accelerate deployment success.

"Deploying outdoor wireless Internet access at a hotel, warehouse, apartment complex, police surveillance post, food service, hospital, university campus or a manufacturing plant requires integrated solutions such as our AeroExtend," says Ashok Kumar, VP of Business Development. "And our design-win program insures a speedy deployment through direct support between our FAE and the Service Provider's team."

The AeroExtend family includes the WLG2502 dual radio AP-Bridge and a range of high gain antennas for 2.4 and 5GHz bands. Wireless network modes include point-to-point and point-to-multipoint bridging, plus simultaneous access point. The WLG2502 includes PoE and complete mounting accessories. Performance is 54Mbps for 11a and 11g, with turbo mode for 108Mbps. Security and management are business-class, including full 802.11i compliant WPA and secure Web and SNMP administrative access.
