Solar Night Industries Selected by Sage Homebuilders to Supply 4 kw Solar System for Near-Zero Energy Home to Be Showcased at National Green Builders Conference

The Home Will Showcase the Latest in Green Methods and Materials and Will Serve as an Example for the New Way of Building That Is Taking the Nation by Storm

ST. LOUIS, MO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 21, 2007 -- Solar Night Industries (PINKSHEETS: SLND) has been selected by Sage Homebuilders to design and install a 4 kW solar energy system to be featured at the National Green Builders Conference in St. Louis, MO (March 26-28). The complete solar installation is being featured "Real-Time" on the SNI "Live Project" Blog:

The showcase home will be a highlight of the green building tour for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) National Green Building Conference which is being held in St. Louis March 25-27, 2007. The Conference will bring over 1,400 builders and dozens of national and local media representatives. The home will also be a cornerstone in the Parade of Green Homes, an event being planned by local green homebuilders for late spring.

Sage Homebuilders is building the showcase home to help demonstrate the variety of "Green" building practices and materials that are revolutionizing the homebuilding industry. The Near-Zero Energy Home, which is sponsored by Owens Corning, is currently under construction in Creve Coeur, MO at 29 Beacon Hill Lane, and will be completed in late Spring 2007. The 3,700 sq. ft. house will be a near-zero energy home (NZEH), meaning that it will produce a majority of the energy it uses via renewable energy. The use of renewable energy, in this case a 4 kW solar system provided by Solar Night Industries, will allow the homeowner to create approximately 5900 kWh per year or about 500 kWh per month*.

Solar energy is just one of many green features to be showcased; others include ICF construction (Insulated Concrete Forms) for the walls, geothermal heating and cooling, PEX plumbing, radiant heat blocking house wrap, and various green construction techniques. The idea of the home is to help educate those in the homebuilding industry, as well as homebuyers and the general public, in a tangible way, about the various green building options and their benefits. The home is projected to be awarded the difficult to achieve green certification under both the Home Builder's Association GBI program and the USGBC's LEED-H program.

Rick Hunter, Managing Partner of Sage, states, "This paradigm shift is fueled by consumers who are demanding a house that 'works' for them, a home which helps them cope with rising energy costs, a home that works to reduce effects of allergies, asthma, and other air related health issues, a home that is designed to require less maintenance and last longer, and a home which seriously addresses the impact that homes have on climate change."

The 4 kW system, with Sharp's 167 watt panels custom designed to fit the structure of the roof, boasts the Gridpoint Connect System. This system offers 900-1000 amp hours of backup and powers the sump pump, refrigerator, lighting, geothermal system, and more in the event of an outage. This all in one backup system is a unique feature in this NZEH home.

"We couldn't be more excited to be the designer and supplier of Solar energy for this important showcase home to be viewed by hundreds of National Green Builders, and work with builders like Sage who are helping push the envelope on Modern Energy Solutions for today's homes and businesses," said Jason Loyet, President of Solar Night Industries.

Solar Night Industries, through partnership with Renewable Energy General Contractor VETSS Corporation, is installing this system with a NABCEP certified crew with 25 years of solar experience.
