Solara Exploration Tests Third Cardium Horizontal Oil Well

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 20, 2011) - Solara Exploration Ltd. ("Solara" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:SAA.A) (TSX VENTURE:SAA.B) announces that it has recently completed the drilling, completion and fracing of its operated Cardium horizontal well at 15-9-45-5-W5M which is located in the Pembina (Buck Lake) area of Alberta. The Company undertook testing operations on the horizontal well from January 11 to 15, 2011, during which time it recovered all of the frac/load fluid and subsequently produced at a stabilized rate of approximately 1,509 barrels of oil per day and 568 thousand cubic feet of natural gas per day for an aggregate rate of 1,604 BOE/d of gross field production over a 12 hour period with a flowing pressure of 1,200 kpa. Solara controls 40% of the well and accordingly, approximately 641 BOE/D of the initial test production. These initial production test results are not necessarily indicative of long-term productivity for the well. Based on management's internal technical analysis, the Company has up to five additional Cardium horizontal drilling opportunities on its working interest lands in the Pembina (Buck Lake) area which compliment its recent three well drilling success in the area.

READER ADVISORY

BOEs may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A BOE conversion ratio of 6 Mcf: 1 bbl is based on an energy equivalency conversion method primarily applicable at the burner tip and does not represent a value equivalency at the wellhead.
