Solarflare Announces New Value-Added Reseller Program to Increase Customer Reach

Tiered Channel Program Will Offer Compelling Benefits to Partners Reselling Solarflare's 10 Gigabit Ethernet Server Adapters

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - September 9, 2010) -  Solarflare Communications, the leader in 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) data center solutions, today announced its new value-added reseller (VAR) program for partners with complementary technology, market focus and geographical reach. Developed in response to Solarflare's strong channel growth, this two-tiered distribution channel will provide VARs with the resources required to generate and close new business at an accelerated pace.

The recent growth of bandwidth-intensive applications in today's data centers, and the growing adoption of virtualization and cloud computing, have motivated many IT managers to look toward the reseller and system integration community to meet their needs for the right high-performance products attuned to their specific application and business needs.

Solarflare's tiered program offers VARs a unique combination of features and benefits based on their primary business needs to help them gain a clear market advantage. Divided into three categories, Platinum, Gold and Silver, these partners can quote and purchase through Solarflare's distribution channel, and receive direct support from the company's technical support and sales channel teams. Resellers are offered the following benefits to drive additional revenue, increase new business opportunities and enhance customer relationships:

  • Pricing -- tiered product pricing in the Solarflare distribution channel to allow margin or pricing differentiation
  • Training -- specific technical and support training programs
  • Documentation and product access -- early access to evaluation units, software releases and documentation
  • Joint marketing -- collaborative joint marketing to generate awareness and customer leads

To date, Solarflare has shipped the SFN 5122F 10GbE dual port SFP+ adapter to over 100 customers and 150 locations in China, Europe, the US, India, Hong Kong and Singapore. The SFN5122F is installed with its OpenOnload application acceleration middleware in every major equities exchange worldwide. With its hardware-assisted support for virtualization, the Solarflare 10GbE Server Adapters deliver up to five times the application performance of other server adapters by accelerating virtual IO for Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper V and VMware. Solarflare adapters also possess the industry's most scalable virtualization architecture, supporting up to 256 virtual functions and up to 2048 virtual NICs, 16 times greater scalability than conventional approaches.
