Solarflare Identified as the Fastest-Growing 10GbE Adapter Supplier, According to Dell'Oro Group

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - February 17, 2011) - Solarflare, the 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) pioneer, announced today that its revenue market share grew 60% in Q4, 2010, maintaining the company's position as the fastest-growing 10GbE server adapter vendor in the industry, according to Dell'Oro Group's recently published Network Adapter Report.* Solarflare's market share growth was more than twice the growth rate of any of its competitors in the quarter. The company's growth was the result of continued strong performance in its core financial services market segment, as well as growth in high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud market segments. The overall 10GbE NIC market grew to $72M in the quarter, a 20.2% growth over the previous quarter.

"Our server adapters provide the best performance for a wide range of applications, and customers are taking notice. We now have over 120 customers worldwide for our products, which we sell through a strong network of VARs, as well as Dell and HP," said Mike Smith, vice president and general manager of host solutions at Solarflare. "We've had tremendous success in the financial services market segment and we've been able to capture significant customers in various HPC segments, and those using bandwidth intensive applications like social networking platforms, further fueling our growth."

Solarflare has shipped its 10GbE adapters to over 150 locations in China, Europe, US, India, Hong Kong and Singapore. The company's server adapters support its unique OpenOnload application acceleration middleware, which provides unmatched latency and message rate performance for demanding application environments. Solarflare's solutions enable high-frequency trading, high-performance computing for select verticals, such as scientific computing, oil, gas and manufacturing, as well as server virtualization for cloud networking. Also, large enterprise customers who need to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley or similar international regulations can purchase an annual subscription for EnterpriseOnload, which delivers worldwide 24/7 service and support with very tight service level agreements, vital for this market.

Featuring hardware-assisted support for virtualization, Solarflare's 10GbE adapters deliver up to three times the application performance of other server adapters by accelerating virtual I/O for Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper V and VMware. The company's 10GbE server adapters also possess the industry's most scalable virtualization architecture, supporting up to 1,024 virtual NICs per port.

Solarflare's products are currently available through 20 certified VAR partners.
