Solarflare to Speak on "Big Data, Smarter Networks: Optimizing the Network Infrastructure for Big Data" at Hadoop Summit

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 13, 2012) - Solarflare, the leading provider of application-intelligent networking I/O, today announced that Bruce Tolley, vice president of solutions and outbound marketing, will speak at Hadoop Summit on technology options for building high-performance 10GbE clusters including tuning parameters to optimize server I/O with multicore servers, and present test results conducted with Hadoop ecosystem technology partners. Tolley will demonstrate how to unlock the processing power of today's servers through user-level networking, addressing latency and throughput challenges of large data generated by social media and big data.

Session attendees will receive information needed to achieve faster throughput and higher bandwidth, while supporting scale-out data centers.

About Bruce Tolley
Bruce Tolley is responsible for solutions and technical marketing at Solarflare for scale out networking applications. Prior to joining Solarflare, Tolley was a senior product line manager at Cisco Systems where he launched Layer 2/3/4, Metro Ethernet, and 10 Gigabit switching. Formerly Study Group Chair of the IEEE 802.3aq 10GBASE-LRM standards project, Tolley has been frequent contributor to the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards projects and a frequent speaker at industry events such as IEEE 802.3 Working Group, the Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC) Performance Summit, and Interop. He holds an MBA from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley and a PhD from Stanford University.
