Soles4Souls to Receive Shoes From Rape & Sexual Abuse Survivors

The 6th Annual "Walk in Their Shoes" 5k Event Takes Place in Nashville on Saturday, March 31

NASHVILLE, TN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 26, 2007 -- The Rape & Sexual Abuse Center (RASAC) of Nashville is hosting the 6th annual "Walk in Their Shoes" 5k event on March 31, 2007. The walk begins promptly at 9am, and the route takes participants over the Shelby Street Walking Bridge where hundreds of donated shoes will be lining the bridge. RASAC wants shoes donated by survivors or family members of sexual abuse victims to show the impact that this violence has on the Nashville community.

Soles4Souls™ Inc., the international charity that collects and distributes new and gently worn shoes to needy and hurting people worldwide, will participate in the event by collecting shoes from RASAC and hosting an information booth on the non-profit organization during the event. The charity will also have staff members participating in the walk.

"It's important to us to show solidarity with such tremendous organizations within our community," said David Graben, Director of Corporate Events for Soles4Souls. "This is charity that all Tennesseans should be aware of, and Soles4Souls is incredibly proud that RASAC would entrust the shoes they are collecting to us," he said. David's wife Pattie, who is the Office Manager for Soles4Souls, is also participating in the walk.

To donate shoes toward the event, residents can place new or gently used shoes in a separate plastic bag and either ship them to (or drop them off at) RASAC offices:
