Solex Resources Corp. Establishes Advisory Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 7, 2006) - Solex Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SOX) ("Solex" or the "Company"), is very pleased to announce that the Company has established an Advisory Board to assist in the technical, business and financial development of the Company. The members of the newly formed Advisory Board are as follows:

Dr. Alan Clark, A.R.S.M., Ph.D., C.Eng.

Dr. Clark is Professor Emeritus of Queen's University, Ontario, who has, over the last 30 years, been engaged in numerous projects specifically targeting the region of the Company's interest in Southern Peru. The Queen's University Central Andean Metallogenetic Project, CAMP, has been responsible for establishing much of the existing metallogenetic framework of this World-class Cu-Au-Ag-Sn-W province, covering both regional and local aspects, including basic stratigraphy, Ar40-Ar39, U-Pb and fission track geochronology, tectonics, igneous petrogenesis, hypogene ore genesis and even geomorphology and its impact on supergene enrichment of Cu, Ag and Au deposits.

Paul Matysek, M.Sc., P.Geo.

Mr. Matysek is a co-founder of Energy Metals Corporation and an experienced geochemist/geologist with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Science degree in Geology. With over 25 years of domestic and international experience, he is a recognized entrepreneur specializing in developing resource based companies from conception to production. Mr. Matysek has held senior management and/or director positions with several natural resource exploration and development companies. These have included, First Quantum Minerals, First Majestic Resources and Vannessa Ventures.

Mr. Matysek has been instrumental in the acquisition and development of a number of significant uranium, precious metal and base-metal properties. He has been involved in raising over $120M for various exploration and development projects since 1999. He is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Dr. William Mercer B.Sc., Ph.D., P.Geo.

Dr. Mercer, P.Geo. (Ont.), is a geological consultant, with over 30 years of experience of managing exploration programs. His work has taken him to almost every continent, to over 30 countries and involvement in exploration and assessment of deposit types including porphyry Cu, Cu-Au and Mo, VMS and sedex base metal deposits, epithermal gold, bauxite and uranium.

Dr. Mercer obtained a B.Sc. in geology (Edinburgh University, 1968) and a Ph.D. (McMaster University, 1975). Since graduating, he has been employed continuously with Mattagami Lake Mines, Noranda and then Falconbridge. He worked for Mattagami and then Noranda in exploration managerial positions in western Canada. Later, for Noranda, he was Director - Latin America Exploration, Director - International Exploration then Chief Geologist. After the merger of Noranda and Falconbridge, Dr. Mercer became Director, Geology and Geochemistry for Falconbridge where he supervised the Geological Services Group.

Dr. Mercer retired from the company in 2006. He was President of the Prospectors and Developers Association in 2002 to 2004 and honoured with the Distinguished Service Award in 2006. He is a member of the Natural Resources Canada, Minister's National Advisory Board for Earth Sciences.

Dr. Bernd Schmeling, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

For over three decades, Dr. Schmeling's professional career has been dedicated to the global understanding, exploration and mining of Uranium. Dr. Schmeling has been an independent consultant since 1996, prior to which, he was engaged by Uranerzbergbau-GmbH, a global force in the uranium industry, acquired by Cameco Corporation in 1998. Seconded to Uranerz USA inc. in the 1970's, Dr. Schmeling was intimately involved in the discovery of the Key lake uranium deposits.

Stewart Wallis, P.Geo.

Mr. Wallis is an independent consulting geologist with over 35 years of international experience. Most recently, he was General Manager of the Vancouver office for Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Wallis worked internationally for a number of consulting companies involved in due diligence, project evaluations and feasibility studies throughout the world. During his tenure with several large Canadian Mining companies, Mr. Wallis was involved in the discovery, acquisition and development of several gold deposits.

More recently he has carried out due diligence on numerous uranium projects in the United States, Africa, Europe and the former Soviet Union countries. Mr. Wallis has a geology degree from McMaster University and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan and British Columbia in addition to being registered as a Professional Geologist in Wyoming. He is currently a Director of Crosshair Exploration and Mining Corp., a listed company carrying out gold and uranium exploration in Labrador and Newfoundland.


Solex is a development stage mineral Exploration Company engaged in the acquisition and exploration of uranium and base metals properties in Peru. Solex is the largest concession holder in the Macusani Uranium District in S.E. Peru. The Macusani East Project is a joint venture with Frontier Pacific Mining Corporation which has the right to earn a 50% interest in the project after spending $4 million over a five year period. Solex is also exploring its 100% owned Pilunani (lead-zinc), Princesa (silver-lead-zinc), Macusani West (uranium) and Cullquimayo (copper-silver-uranium) properties. The Company is well funded with working capital of approximately CDN$3 million.
