Solid Landings Behavioral Health Hosts Lecture by Renowned Addiction Specialist, Jerry Moe, That Will Examine Addiction Through a Child's Perspective

COSTA MESA, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 2, 2014) - As part of Solid Landings Behavioral Health's monthly lecture series, "Through a Child's Eye: Understanding Addiction and Recovery," will be presented on Tuesday, September 23 in Costa Mesa, California. The presentation will examine the unique perspective that kids have in viewing their world and the complexities of addiction and recovery in their family environment. Hosted by Solid Landings Behavioral Health, the lecture will be presented by Jerry Moe, M.A. who serves as the national director of children's programs at Betty Ford Center.

While it has long been accepted that alcoholism and other drug addictions are a family disease, there are few and limited opportunities for young children to be an integral part of the treatment and recovery process. The presentation will explore how children see addiction in their families. More importantly, Mr. Moe will delve into how children embrace and accept the healing journey. The presentation will provide a positive outlook on how hope endures when the whole family is part of the recovery and treatment process.

Jerry Moe also serves as an advisory board member of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. He is an author, lecturer, and trainer on issues that pertain to children and families that are affected and hurt by addiction. Last year, Mr. Moe received the Mona Mansell Award and the Father Joseph C. Martin Award. His latest book is "Through a Child's Eyes: Understanding Addiction and Recovery," He was recently featured in the Emmy-Award winning Nick News special "Under the Influence."
