Solidarity rally to support CUPE 966 workers

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 30, 2012) - Workers and labour leaders from across the GTA will join striking members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 966 for a rally at Mississauga City Hall on Friday afternoon.

Local 966 members working at Ontario Works have been on strike since May 3. They are seeking a fair contract similar to those negotiated with other Peel Region workers.

CUPE Ontario will be presenting the Local with $35,000 in donations made by members at their recent Convention in Windsor.
