SolidFire to Deliver Quality-of-Service on Citrix CloudPlatform

All-Flash Storage Leader to Demonstrate Unparalleled Storage QoS Capability Under CloudPlatform

LOS ANGELES, CA and BOULDER, CO--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - CITRIX SYNERGY CONFERENCE -- SolidFire, a provider of all-solid-state (SSD) storage systems for cloud infrastructure, will demonstrate to Citrix Synergy attendees how they can achieve unparalleled storage Quality-of-Service for their Citrix CloudPlatform™-based cloud infrastructure. Customers continue to expand their cloud use cases and are demanding more advanced functionality. With SolidFire's CloudPlatform™ integration, customers can now achieve the guaranteed storage performance required to host a wider and wider range of applications in a multi-tenant infrastructure.

SolidFire's unique QoS-driven storage architecture and performance virtualization technology allows administrators to provision performance and capacity independent of one another on a per volume basis. This unprecedented level of workload isolation ensures mission critical applications get exactly the storage resources they need to run effectively in an infrastructure hosting multiple applications or tenants simultaneously. SolidFire's technology is Citrix Ready® Cloud Verified. The Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third-party products that have successfully met verification criteria set by Citrix, and gives SolidFire customers an added confidence in the compatibility of the joint solution offering.

Through SolidFire's integration with Citrix CloudPlatform powered by Apache CloudStack, customers can provision and manage volumes on their SolidFire storage infrastructure through the CloudPlatform management console. Granular Quality-of-Service settings for these volumes can be automatically assigned by leveraging the SolidFire APIs. In the next CloudPlatform release, this functionality will be accessible natively through the SolidFire developed storage plug-in for both CloudPlatform and CloudStack.

"Customers are continually pushing the technology envelope with CloudPlatform, demanding increasing functionality to help enhance and extend their cloud infrastructure," said Peder Ulander, vice president, Open Source Solutions at Citrix. "At the storage layer, vendors like SolidFire are responding to this demand by investing time and resources to ensure customers can have native access to advanced storage functionality like Quality-of-Service from within their CloudPlatform experience."

"Citrix CloudPlatform is at the center-point of many of our customers cloud infrastructure strategy today," said Dave Cahill, Director of Strategic Alliances, SolidFire. "For customers looking to host performance sensitive applications on their CloudPlatform-based cloud, storage functionality like Quality-of-Service is essential. In the future, SolidFire's continued development and integration work in this community will continue to focus on enhancing and extending the storage functionality available to CloudPlatform customers."
