Solutionary Appoints Former IBM Executive Consultant John Petrie as Chief Information Security Officer & Senior Security Strategist

Industry Veteran to Drive Information Security Strategy and Manage the Solutionary Security Program

OMAHA, NE--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2016) - Solutionary, an NTT Group security company (NYSE: NTT) and leading cyber security services provider, today announced the appointment of John F. Petrie III as the company's chief information security officer (CISO) and senior security strategist. Petrie brings a unique perspective to the leadership team; he was a Solutionary client for more than 10 years during his tenure as senior vice president and chief information security strategist with Harland Clarke Holdings Corp. In addition to the strong foundation he built with the Solutionary founders and team, Petrie brings more than 26 years of relevant industry experience to his new role. As an executive consultant for IBM, Petrie worked with clients in the areas of information security program development, strategic planning, roadmap development and strategic assessments across multiple industry verticals. Petrie will report to Solutionary president Mike Hrabik and will be responsible for driving security strategy, enhancing and forging new customer relationships, and bolstering internal security policies and processes.

"As we continue the rapid expansion of our security programs and customer base, it is imperative we have the right talent in place to help us towards our goal of becoming the de facto performance standard for the provisioning of managed security services (MSS) to the enterprise, mid-size and government markets," said Mike Hrabik, president, Solutionary. "Our reputation as a leader in Managed Security Services can be attributed to the top-notch people we hire and the passion they bring with them. I truly believe John has the drive and determination to augment our strategic security vision and aggressively drive the growth of our information security program."

Prior to consulting for IBM, Petrie served as senior vice president and CISS for Harland Clarke Holdings and was the program executive leader of its Information Technology Transformation Program, which included data center consolidation and virtualization projects.

"I've admired and trusted Solutionary's product and services since they were a service provider to me at Harland Clarke financial services back in 2007," said Petrie. "Joining such a world-class managed security service provider gives me an opportunity to help new and existing customers further optimize their security posture across the entire security lifecycle, make informed decisions about new security technologies coming to market, achieve compliance and reduce their overall costs."

Petrie earned an MBA in Information Systems from City University of New York and a BS from the University of the State of New York, and is a graduate of the Defense Intelligence College in Washington D.C. He holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Homeland Security-Level III (CHS-III), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Certified Business Manager (CBM).
