Sonitor® Technologies Launches Cost-Saving Hospital "PC-Detector" Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) Solution at HIMSS Conference

RTLS Installation Complexity and Cost Is Virtually Eliminated With Sonitor's "PC-Detector" Technology by Leveraging Existing Computer Hardware and LAN Connectivity

LARGO, FL--(Marketwire - February 19, 2008) - Sonitor® Technologies, Inc., the leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of a proprietary ultrasound Indoor Positioning System (IPS) and Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), today announced the launch of its "PC-Detector" RTLS technology at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2008 Conference, held at the Orange County Convention Center on February 24 - 28 in Orlando, Florida. Sonitor will be exhibiting its new releases in Booth# 3815.

The Sonitor ultrasound Tag signal detection can be performed by most computers in the hospitals, patient rooms, and/or elsewhere by leveraging a hospital's existing computer hardware and LAN connectivity.

"Most computers deployed in hospitals and other healthcare settings already have the required ultrasound detecting hardware and sound processing capabilities required to detect and digitize the ultrasound signals from the various patient and equipment tags in a Sonitor RTLS or Indoor Positioning System," Dr. Wilfred Booij, CTO of Sonitor Technologies, Inc., stated.

Industry experts anticipate a sharp increase of distributed computer processing capacity to patient rooms in coming years, including Table PCs, Computers-on-Wheels (COWs) and Computers-at-Bedside (CABs).

"Sonitor's unsurpassed location accuracy reliability performing with 100% room-level location accuracy can now be matched with unsurpassable installation simplicity and no installation cost," Terry Aasen, CEO of Sonitor Technologies, Inc., stated. "Should a computer not have the required sound processing capabilities, then this is cost-effectively and simply remedied by adding an inexpensive USB or similar microphone and soundcard accessory," Dr. Booji added.
