Sony Ericsson Mini Magic Users Share Their Facebook Avatar Creations

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2010) - Fans of the global Sony Ericsson Facebook page who are getting involved with its latest Xperia™X10 Mini campaign, Mini Magic, are sharing their avatar creations with friends and family through both Twitter and Facebook.

The Facebook avatar creator, which allows users to develop and dress a miniature person, has proved to be widely popular amongst Sony Ericsson fans. Those who are creating mini avatars of themselves are enthusiastically sharing their avatar creations with their friends, as well as using them as their Facebook profile pictures. The avatar maker enables users to create miniature versions of anyone they would like. People are also choosing to make fun avatars of their friends and family members to tag and share.

Sharing is an integral part of social networking; users share via status updates, they pass on images and videos and let friends know where they are located at any given time. The concept of sharing information is what makes social networking such a great platform not only for friends but also brands. Sony Ericsson have certainly proved this by creating this fun avatar maker alongside a competition in which five lucky winners will win an Xperia™ X10 mini pro and five runners-up will win an Xperia™ X10 mini.

The Facebook contest element of Mini Magic is also based around the theme of sharing as it requires users to upload their images of miniature objects and people can then vote on their favourite miniature image. One way for users to get friends to vote for their photograph is by asking them via the sharing function, a simple option that allows users to instantly share their pictures on Facebook and Twitter. The 20 users who have uploaded images that gain the most votes will be entered in to the final. Both the Facebook avatar and the competition are based around the miniature size of the Xperia™ X10 Mini to celebrate the tiny smartphone being awarded the European Mobile Phone of the Year 2010-2011.

The Mini Magic campaign will close on 17 January 2011. To enter the Sony Ericsson photo contest or to create a Mini Magic avatar, please visit:
