Sony Makes More of Your iPod With Its All-New Range of Docks and Systems

Line-up Includes a DJ System, iPod Speakers and Two Radio/Alarm Clock Docks

WEYBRIDGE, UK--(Marketwire - October 16, 2008) - Sony is bringing its audio and integration experience to bear on helping consumers get the most from their portable music, by launching a five-strong range of iPod® compatible products. Based on extensive research into different kinds of consumers and their needs, including the different places we want to listen, the new products are designed to match various lifestyles, and deliver far higher audio quality. The new range shows Sony's intention to continue to develop products that are compatible with popular hardware formats and audio codecs.

The line-up includes mini hi-fi system with docks for two iPods and DJ functions perfect for house parties, two designs of iPod speaker system and two clock radios, one having CD playback in addition to its iPod compatibility.

Sony's new "Made for iPod" range at a glance

Perfect for mixing and playing music from iPods, CDs and other sources, Sony's LBT-DJ2i helps create the ultimate party soundtrack. With dual docks for iPods, cross-fader and 450W of power through its speakers and separate twin-driver subwoofer, this system is the complete party animal.

What's more, Sony's Beat Blend feature adds a layer of pre-programmed percussion, drum sounds and drum loops over the mix.

And the LBT-DJ2i system isn't just about live mixing: it even has a USB recording function to save mixing sessions to a USB device without a PC, so you can keep your mixes to share with friends. As well as mixing between two iPods, the system also allows you to mix music on an iPod with that from the built-in CD player, or from personal players connected via USB.

Also included is an FM/AM tuner, so when you're not partying hard this ultimate iPod mini-system will also satisfy all your listening needs.

Sony's new iPod speaker systems, the SRS-GU10iP and ZS-S4iP, will let you share your music with friends, thanks to powerful built-in speakers.

The SRS-GU10iP has a total output power of 20W through its built-in stereo speaker system, with a bass boost for a richer sound. It comes in a stylish piano black wooden finish, will charge the docked iPod and is supplied complete with a remote control giving full iPod menu control.

The larger ZS-S4iP is a go-anywhere 'boombox' design complete with CD/MP3 CD playback, a secure dock for iPod, and an FM/AM tuner. It also has full remote control, and is perfect for use anywhere around the house -- or even outdoors!

Two clock radio docks complete the range: the ICF-C1iPMK2 and ICF-CD3iP, allowing you to recharge your player overnight, and wake up to the radio or your favourite music.

The ICF-C1iPMk2 is a compact speaker dock complete with FM/AM tuner, digital clock readout, snooze/sleep timer and remote control, while the ICF-CD3iP has a CD player built into its large alarm clock display, will also play MP3 CDs, and again has FM/AM tuner and remote control.

This new range is compatible with the very latest iPod players. The speaker systems and the clock radio docks are also compatible with the iPhone™.
