Using advanced holographic waveguide technology encased in lightweight eyewear, the new super-thin SmartEyeGlass lenses sport both high transparency and excellent brightness so that your vision is not encumbered by splashy graphics. Instead, Sony envisions that developers will create apps where you can watch a sports game and see stats highlighted right before your eyes, or go shopping and see prices appear in your field of vision. Sony SED-E1 SmartEyeglass connects to a compatible smartphone, where the apps are running.
The module is made up of two parts: the optical engine, which projects images and text using micro display (µDisplay) technology, and a holographic waveguide, an extremely thin transparent plate of glass measuring just 1mm. The green monochrome 8-bit heads-up display also contains a 3MP camera, along with an accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, brightness sensor, microphone, and noise suppression sub microphone.

The developer’s kit, included with purchase, contains the emulator, code, guides, and more to help visionaries create and craft applications where the depth of your imagination is the only limitation. There are even tutorials that guide you through creating your first app, and it supports devices running Android 4.4 and above.
