SourceClear Names Brian Doll Vice President of Marketing and Community

Former GitHub and New Relic Executive to Oversee Company's Marketing Organization and Continued Development of Its Customer Ecosystem

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 23, 2016) - SourceClear, the security company for software developers, today announced the appointment of technology industry veteran Brian Doll as Vice President of Marketing and Community. Doll, who joins SourceClear just after the launch of the company's free security tool, SourceClear Open, will oversee the company's marketing initiatives and the ongoing evolution of its user community.

Doll most recently served as the Vice President of Strategy for GitHub, where he developed the company's corporate, business and product strategy. Prior to GitHub, Doll was the Director of Technical Marketing at New Relic and its first technical evangelist, growing the company's active accounts to more than 20,000 while expanding into four key markets: Ruby, Java, .NET and PHP. Previously, Doll held software development roles at several organizations, including Wells Fargo and Restoration Hardware.

"Brian embodies the 'by developers, for developers' business philosophy that SourceClear was founded on," said Mark Curphey, CEO of SourceClear. "A creative talent, his extensive experience in leading marketing organizations and development teams will be a tremendous asset as we look to make SourceClear the preferred security tool for developers."

"Open source and DevOps have revolutionized software development. With the recent release of SourceClear Open, SourceClear is doing the same for security," said Doll. "I am excited to join an innovative team that truly understands the software development community and is delivering a tool that empowers developers to own security while not getting in the way of what they want to do and do best: shipping features."

Delivered as a cloud service, SourceClear Open enables developers to identify what open-source libraries they are using, what vulnerabilities exist, which vulnerabilities actually matter, and what needs to be done to fix them. A key component of modern development processes, SourceClear Open works with the tools (GitHub and Jenkins), supports the languages (Java, Ruby, Python and JavaScript) and integrates with the issue tracking systems (JIRA) that development teams love and rely on.

Built on the industry's most comprehensive vulnerability database, SourceClear Open tracks thousands of threat sources and analyzes millions of open-source library releases. Through a combination of data science, a dedicated research team and a community research program, the new tool identifies vulnerabilities far beyond those found in public and government databases.
