SourceMedia Increases Advertiser Value Without Increasing Rates

Traders Magazine and Securities Industry News Increases Print Circulation to Better Serve Clients in Time of Need

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - February 25, 2009) - SourceMedia, the leading media provider of B2B content for the global financial community, announced today that it has increased the circulation of Traders Magazine and Securities Industry News, while maintaining their current advertising rates. This move comes at a time when many publishers are scaling back on print circulation or closing up shop entirely.

"These are unprecedented times," said Robert Whitaker, EVP of SourceMedia's Business Technology & Securities Division. "Other brands that have tried to enter the trading community are shutting down or circling the wagons. Our publications have been serving the institutional trading and technology community for a combined 61 years. This isn't about increasing circulation to increase ad rates. This is about providing more value for advertisers in a very difficult time, and editorially increasing our reach to better serve the trading community."

Securities Industry News, which serves the heads of IT and operations in securities firms, re-launches March 2nd as a high frequency news tabloid, with expanded coverage of technology, trading, operations, risk management and an increased circulation of 10,000. Traders Magazine, the premier publication for head traders, portfolio managers and the C-suite, which holds a 60% share of the ad market, has increased circulation to 15,000. The two brands serve all decision makers who work as part of the trading life cycle at both Buy- and Sell-side firms.

As part of the increased community strategy, Traders Magazine and Securities Industry News are also enhancing their offerings to include more online, custom media and live events. Both brands have sizable online readership, which will continue to increase with the community expansion. Both sites had over 50,000 visitors in January and are anticipating a jump in that number with the release of the March issues.

"The institutional trading community relies on Traders Magazine and Securities Industry News to deliver business information critical to their specific needs. The current economic climate has exacerbated the informational requirements which we serve editorially," said Kenneth Heath, group publisher for both brands. "By expanding our reach and offerings, Traders Magazine and Securities Industry News continue to be the community center where these professionals gather to discuss solutions, strategies and plans of action to prosper and move forward during this crisis."
