South Coast Winery Harvest Festival Invites All to Experience Their "First Crush": Grape Stomping, Balloon Rides, Food, Music, and Fun (Sept. 23)

TEMECULA, CA--(Marketwire - September 18, 2007) - South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, known throughout Southern California for its warm and friendly hospitality and fun-filled events, invites all to experience their "first crush" and fall in love with the area's premiere harvest festival held on September 23. Keeping the old world traditions, South Coast Winery's harvest festival is a fun family day that starts with a Blessing of the Wines officiated by former Franciscan Monk, Father Marcolongo, followed by barbequed foods, tractor-pulled hayrides, dancing and entertainment (provided by Roman Holiday) and, of course, grape stomping contests, face painting, and tethered hot air balloon rides.

"Each year, about this time, no matter what winery you visit in Temecula, you'll sense the excitement in the air," said South Coast Winery's Master Winemaker Jon McPherson. "And each year, I experience my 'first crush' all over again with our harvest festival."

One of the treats guests of South Coast Winery can expect is a thorough tour of just how wines are made. From carefully measuring the sugar levels of fruit vines, to monitoring fruit yields, to "cellar work," that is, making sure there's ample storage and that the tanks and barrels are ready to accept the juice once crush occurs, is all shared with Harvest Festival guests.

"With the cold, dryer winter, the vines seemed to have done very well for themselves, and we're seeing a higher acid and lower pH level like never before," said McPherson who enjoys joining his crews in the wee hours of the morning or late at night, to harvest. "While yields are a little lower than in the past, the quality this year is dynamic."

Cost for South Coast Winery's Harvest Festival is just $45 per person/$40 wine club members/$15 children under age 12. For more information, please call 951-587-9463 Ext. 7210 or visit us at www.wineresort.com.
