ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - Feb 20, 2013) - South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an innovator in secure file transfer, announced today the release of Version 11 of its popular WebDrive File Access Client. WebDrive enables easy access to files over the Internet in a simple, intuitive way that reduces training and support requirements and improves end-user efficiency. WebDrive is currently installed on approximately 5 million desktops in 124 countries.
The new version extends WebDrive's simple, efficient file access to include cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive. Users can now connect to these services as well as corporate FTP Servers, Microsoft SharePoint and a variety of secure web servers through the convenience of a network drive. An updated site manager interface allows for easier navigation, particularly for customers who are accessing a large number of servers through WebDrive.
"We've used WebDrive for over eight years and it's always 'just there' ready-to-work. We enjoy the simplicity and convenience of integrated drive letters in Windows Explorer rather than launching a separate app. We cannot imagine a simpler or easier to use everyday tool," said Robert Keller, founder of GoHook.com.
Because WebDrive maps a drive letter to remote servers, files can be edited without the user having to download the file, save and edit it locally, and then upload the file again. WebDrive enables users to interact with remote files the same way that they interact with files on their local PCs.
The new version of WebDrive is available immediately at a price of $70 for a single license, and with larger corporate licenses available as low as $12 per seat.
