South Sound Coffee Trail Launches in Washington State's Capital Region

Self-guided tour brings craft coffee lovers straight to the roasters for learning, sipping, cupping and more

OLYMPIA, WA--(Marketwired - November 29, 2017) - The South Sound Coffee Trail launches today, offering a self-guided exploration of all things craft coffee in Washington's capital region. This route to the roasters provides a curated map of regional cafes and roasteries, and details on nearby coffee cuppings and tastings. A few highlights of the trail include:

  • Find Tastings and Cuppings. Stop by the Batdorf & Bronson tasting room to sample a variety of roasts or take a cupping class at Batdorf & Bronson or Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. to learn about each coffee's origin and flavor profiles.
  • Define Your Coffee Style. Whether it's latte art, ambiance or aroma that's most important, an infographic-style quiz leads sippers to which local java may jive with their coffee style.
  • Discover Cafes and Roasters. The trail highlights top cafes, roasters and information from Batdorf & Bronson, Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. and Olympic Crest Coffee Roasters. Visitors can find detail on each café and roastery, along with tried and tested tips from locals and the roasters – don't miss the house-made Madagascar Vanilla at Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. or the Dancing Goats Roast at Batdorf & Bronson.

"Whether it's hopped, aged, distilled or caffeinated, Olympia's locals and visitors alike are all about craft brewed beverages," said Shauna Stewart, executive director at Experience Olympia and Beyond. "The South Sound Wine Trail and the South Sound Craft Crawl have done a great job of connecting visitors with local producers. We're thrilled to launch this new hub for roasters as the next and newest iteration in linking culinary travelers with delicious and authentic local experiences."
