Southampton to Commence an Airborne Geophysical Survey Over Cu-Ni-PGE Targets on the Lake Horden Project, North of Tamagami, Quebec

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2008) - Southampton Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SV) ("Southampton") is pleased to report that an airborne geophysical survey has begun on its 95% owned Horden Lake Deposit and its recently staked 87 pending claims (11,654 acres) , located to the north of Southampton's Cu-Ni-PGE project. The Horden Lake Property is located approximately 200 km northwest of Matagami, Quebec. Southampton has engaged the services of Fugro Airborne Surveys to fly a helicopter-borne electromagnetic and magnetic survey using Fugro's HeliGEOTEM® system over Southampton's Horden Lake Property.

Southampton chose the HeliGEOTEM system, which brings together the proven GEOTEM/MEGATEM technology with the greater operational flexibility and improved lateral resolution of helicopter-mounted EM systems. HeliGEOTEM has the advantage of excellent depth penetration, better conductor resolution, shorter survey time and a 40% cost saving over available ground systems. This survey will allow ground follow-up later this season consisting of geological ground-truthing and mapping, which will facilitate a prioritization of drill targets for the upcoming summer season.

The survey will be flown at 100m flight line intervals and will encompass approximately 554 line kilometres in and around the Horden Lake Project. Fugro Airborne Surveys will fly the survey using the HeliGEOTEM system.

Currently, mineralization in Horden Lake appears to be primary magmatic intrusions with local remobilization along contact zones. There appears to be two distinct varieties of mineralization:

-The first style of mineralization is disseminated to pyrrhotite plus chalcopyrite, prominent in but not restricted to the medium to coarse-grained gabbro unit but also in a vari-textured gabbro unit.

-The second style of mineralization ranges from large blebs to fine disseminations of chalcopyrite and pyrhotite along shear zones.

Selection of the new claims and permits was based on favorable geological and geophysical signatures and/or known mineralization. The current airborne geophysics survey was commissioned to detect potential electromagnetic conductors that may be present on the properties and this program will be completed under the supervision of Mr. Iain Kelso, P.Geo., a geologist with Caracle Creek International Consulting Inc. and Qualified Person under NI 43-101.
