Spacelabs Healthcare Clinical Trial Services Appointed by Mortara as E-Scribe ECG Warehouse Value Added Reseller

Reseller Status Enables Spacelabs Healthcare to Include ECG Warehouse Use and Access in Its Portfolio of Cardiac Safety Services

MILWAUKEE, WI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 18, 2007 -- Mortara Instrument announced today Spacelabs Healthcare's appointment as an authorized Mortara E-Scribe ECG Warehouse Value Added Reseller (VAR). Mortara's VAR program will allow the Clinical Trial Services division of Spacelabs to offer access to the ECG Warehouse services in conjunction with its own service offerings to its clients.

The Mortara E-Scribe ECG Warehouse, developed by Mortara Instrument in collaboration with the FDA, provides the Agency with the ability to collect, store and archive ECG data from clinical trials in a digital format. FDA reviewers will use the ECG Warehouse to assess the cardiac safety of new drugs. The Mortara ECG Warehouse includes ECG dataset import and format validation capabilities, web-based query and review of data, scoring systems for rank ordering ECG records and studies of interest and advanced tools for research-oriented analysis and display of ECG data.

Sponsors may simply upload ECG data into the Mortara E-Scribe ECG Warehouse for FDA review, or instead choose to utilize the Mortara toolset to perform high-level analyses of their ECG data prior to FDA submission.

As an ECG Warehouse VAR, Spacelabs will be able to provide its clients with a full spectrum of solutions from ECG acquisition through independent review and final submission of the data into the ECG Warehouse for FDA review. "The critical focus on cardiac safety during the drug development process has resulted in a demand for technology solutions to the age-old dilemma of paper ECGs and ECG waveform analysis. Spacelabs Healthcare is pleased to offer to its clients yet another important innovation. This addition truly adds a new dimension to the comprehensive line of cardiac safety services offered by our company," said Jim Roop, President, Spacelabs Healthcare Clinical Trial Services.

Randy Spaulding, Vice President of Clinical Research at Mortara, commented, "Spacelabs has continually invested in the highest quality solutions and infrastructure to deliver superior levels of service to the pharmaceutical industry. Appointment as an ECG Warehouse reseller places them at the forefront of technology adoption to better serve their clients with Mortara solutions from Site to Submission. With the rapid expansion of submissions into the ECG Warehouse, we expect the VAR relationship to significantly benefit Spacelabs clients."
