Spaces Still Available for November 22 Advanced GI Therapeutics Course Offered by Presence Saint Joseph Hospital

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 4, 2014) - Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago announced today that spots are still available for its upcoming educational program for physicians and nurses entitled "Advances in GI Therapeutics: Technology and Approaches in Intraluminal Therapeutics." This informative lecture and hands-on lab session covering the growing field of advanced GI therapeutics will be held at the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's state-of-the-art ASGE Institute for Training and Technology in Downers Grove, Illinois on Saturday, November 22, 2014.

"In our didactic, hands-on course, endoscopists will have the unique opportunity to refine their skills in a safe and supportive environment," said Presence Saint Joseph gastroenterologist Antwan Atia, MD, who was instrumental in planning the program and is serving as course co-director along with Lawrence Gluskin, MD and Eduardo Villa, MD.

At the conference, three internationally-renowned specialists will present the latest insights, findings and technologies about GI therapeutics, which is a unique and growing area of medicine. These specialists include Marietta Iacucci MD, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, University of Calgary, Canada; Brenna Casey, MD, FASGE, Interventional Gastroenterology, Director of Endoscopic Training, Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard Medical School; and Patrick I. Okolo III, MD, Chief, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Registration for "Advances in GI Therapeutics: Technology and Approaches in Intraluminal Therapeutics" is open to all physicians and nurses. Upon completion of the course, physicians will earn applicable CMEs from the Illinois State Medical Society and nurses will receive applicable credits from the Ohio Nurses Association.

The conference will kick off Friday evening, November 21, 2014 with a networking dinner at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, 2105 South Spring Road in Oak Brook, where attendees will have the opportunity for face time and conversation with the presenters. Seating at dinner is limited; advance registration is recommended. The course starts Saturday morning, November 22, with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by the seminar and lectures at 8:30 a.m., an exhibit hall, lunch and a hands-on lab session in the afternoon that reinforces the day's learning experience.
