Spain's Fourth Largest Banking Group, Banc Sabadell, Deploys Infoblox Appliances for Delivery of Core Network Services

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 15, 2008) - Infoblox, Inc. today announced that Banc Sabadell has deployed Infoblox appliances for delivery of core network services, including internal and external domain name resolution (DNS) and IP address assignment (DHCP), as well as configuration file distribution services (TFTP/HTTP) that specifically support the bank's new voice over IP (VoIP) application.

Banc Sabadell is comprised of several different banks, brands, subsidiaries and part-owned companies and is Spain's fourth largest banking group. Core network services play an essential role in the bank's network infrastructure that services its thousands of customers online and from its many branch offices. Unfortunately, its previous, conventional solution lacked important security, reliability and manageability capabilities to meet the bank's growing demands.

The hardened, purpose-built Infoblox appliances with the DNSone package and unique grid technology provide the security, features and stability the bank required.

"Security and manageability were critical factors in our decision to migrate to an appliance-based solution," said Joan Reig, Infrastructure Management Director at Banc Sabadell. "We love Infoblox's grid technology for easy management, deployment and maintenance. Automatic provisioning of updated code and security of the purpose-built systems are essential features in our banking environment. With thousands of customers relying on our network for their daily banking transactions, equally important is reliability and the Infoblox appliances have maintained 100 percent uptime for us."

Banc Sabadell has deployed multiple Infoblox-550 and -1550 appliances in high availability pairs serving its regional branch offices throughout Spain.

Infoblox appliances deliver nonstop internal and external DNS and DHCP services for the Banc Sabadell network. The Infoblox appliances are linked together by Infoblox's unique grid technology that allows multiple Infoblox appliances to be operated as a unified system for management and resiliency advantages.

In addition to supporting all essential applications on the Banc Sabadell network, such as email, Web access, CRM applications and more, Infoblox appliances support the bank's new VoIP application with "dial-tone" like reliability for IP address assignment to the handsets. Further, integrated TFTP functionality allows Bank Sabadell to easily and quickly distribute new firmware files to the VoIP handsets.
