Spark(R).com Offers New Home for Ex-Yahoo Personals Members

On the Heels of Match.com Partnership, Spark Gives Free One-Month Subscription to Ousted Yahoo Daters

BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2010) -  Spark.com, the new online dating site for fun singles looking for serious relationships and created by the same people behind such trusted brands as JDate®.com and ChristianMingle®.com, announced today that they will offer a free one-month subscription to all former Yahoo Personals members who were automatically funneled into Match.com as a result of Yahoo's agreement to have Match.com power the site formerly known as Yahoo Personals.

"The value that Spark.com can provide is far superior to what Match.com hopes to offer Yahoo personals members," says Adam Berger, Chief Executive Officer of Spark Networks, the owner and operator of Spark.com. "Our free communication features and photo requirements make Spark.com the highest quality online dating destination out there."

Match.com does not allow non-subscribers to read or respond to emails, which means many people (both subscribers and non-subscribers alike) lose the opportunity to connect with potential matches. At Spark.com however, everyone can not only receive, but also read and respond to emails for free, thus increasing everyone's chances of finding real, meaningful relationships with likeminded people.

Additionally, while Match.com says "it's okay to look," the site contains many incomplete profiles, including many without photos. In contrast, when a member joins Spark.com, they are required to upload a photo within 72 hours of registering so that all members can see the faces behind the profiles. New members must also take a brief personality test called The Color Code, which provides insight into their own behaviors and teaches how to best relate and interact with other members of the site.

To take advantage of the Spark.com special offer, all people have to do is log on to Spark.com, complete a free profile and email their Spark.com username and Match.com welcome notice to freecommunication@spark.net. They'll receive a free one-month subscription to Spark.com within 24 hours.
