Speaktoit Partners With Sharp to Preload Assistant Onto New AQUOS Crystal Smartphones

Sharp Integrating the Top-Rated Voice Assistant With Its New Device, Empowering Users With Impressive New Voice-Activated Capabilities

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2014) - Speaktoit, developer of human-computer interaction technologies based on natural language conversations and creator of the Assistant, today announced a partnership with Sharp that preloads the Speaktoit Assistant onto Sharp's new AQUOS Crystal phones.

By preloading Assistant (by Speaktoit), Sharp will now give AQUOS Crystal owners command of the powerful natural language interface out-of-the-box, enabling the full range of features the Assistant provides. Users can speak to the Assistant in natural language to perform tasks, get answers to questions, open apps, check the web, news and weather, set up proactive schedule reminders, get map directions, place calls, send texts, send emails or post to social media, and much more. Assistant app currently has more than 13 million registered users. Assistant is available in nine languages, and has consistently ranked as the top-rated virtual assistant available since its launch in 2011. Assistant is also the top grossing Android lifestyle app in the United States.

Speaktoit recently raised $2.6M in Series B funding from Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, Intel Capital, Alpine Technology Fund, and Plug and Play Ventures to continue to expand its platform and reach devices from a broadening array of manufacturers and industries. Now with the Sharp partnership, Speaktoit is accelerating that expansion. Speaktoit's natural language virtual assistant technology is also being embedded into connected cars, entertainment and household devices, wearables, robots, and other new areas.

"The most exciting part of this new partnership is having Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone users experience what the Assistant can do the moment they turn on their new device," said Ilya Gelfenbeyn, CEO, Speaktoit. "You can speak to it just like you'd talk to a person, and it even learns to get to know you to better anticipate what you'll need, proactively. Speaktoit will continue to embed cross-platform, natural language virtual assistant technology into phones and other connected devices such as cars, homes, wearables, and robots."
