ENFIELD, CT--(Marketwire - September 15, 2008) - Specialized Technology Resources, Inc. (STR), a leading global consumer product testing and quality assurance company, announced today that its subsidiary companies -- CSCC and Shuster Laboratories -- will change their names to STR as of January 1, 2009. STR, which has sophisticated laboratories and offices in over 30 countries across six continents and the capacity to provide audit services in over 140 countries around the world, is making the name transition to continue building a unified brand throughout the world.
This is the first step in a broad and long-term effort to improve client service, focus, and data management to better assist clients with their supply chain management, product performance, and responsible sourcing goals.

STR acquired CSCC in 1999 and Shuster in 2002. CSCC, which was founded in 1991, will be known as STR's Responsible Sourcing division and will continue to help companies build secure and socially responsible relationships with their supply chain partners. Shuster, which was founded in 1955, is a well-known provider of product testing and quality assurance services for consumer packaged goods such as foods, nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and household chemical products. Shuster's industry experience complements STR's vast expertise in hard and soft consumer goods such as garments/textiles, toys/toy premiums, electronics/electrical equipment, and general merchandise.
