Spectralink a Growing Force in Latest Independent Market Research Report on Wi-Fi Phones

BOULDER, CO and HORSENS, DENMARK--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) - Spectralink Corporation ("Spectralink"), a global leader in wireless solutions for the workplace, is among the market leaders in Wi-Fi solutions, according to the new 2014 Wireless LAN Equipment and Wi-Fi Phones report from Infonetics Research.

The joint fourth-quarter 2014 and year-end Wireless LAN Equipment and Wi-Fi Phones report assesses market share, size and forecasts to track purpose-built, enterprise Wi-Fi phones as well as enterprise Wi-Fi access points and wireless LAN (WLAN) controllers.

For the fourth quarter of 2014, Infonetics reported that Spectralink's market share in terms of revenue share grew 13.6 percentage points year-over-year and is up nearly 8 percentage points quarter-over-quarter for a total revenue share of 34.5 percent. In addition, the Infonetics report found there was higher than usual demand for Wi-Fi phones in 4Q14, influenced by a large number of deals.

Spectralink's market share by unit shipments also increased dramatically versus competitors, climbing to 33.8 percent. The company's unit shipments in 2014 grew almost 40 percent over unit shipments in 2013.

"The Infonetics Wireless LAN Equipment and Wi-Fi Phones report demonstrates the increased worldwide demand for enterprise-grade wireless networks and purpose-built mobile solutions that enable a more efficient, cost effective workplace," said Dan Mondor, CEO, Spectralink Corporation. "We're pleased that Spectralink's powerful and highly capable wireless offerings are making significant gains in this market. We're dedicated to helping our customers maximize their productivity with more efficient mobile workers."

Spectralink recently announced the newest addition to the WorkSmart family of solutions for enterprise mobile communication, the PIVOT:S. Part of the 87-Series voice over Wi-Fi family of devices, the PIVOT:S features a streamlined, slimmer design that gives customers the choice of two ergonomically designed form factors and three devices in the PIVOT family.

Designed to bridge the gap between consumer smartphones and purpose-built mobile solutions, the PIVOT 87-Series gives users the agility to quickly respond -- or pivot -- at a moment's notice. Spectralink's portfolio of Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) handsets is designed to deliver a more flexible model of enterprise-grade, on-site voice mobility with a familiar, smartphone-like user interface on an extensible application platform. The entire portfolio of PIVOT devices is superior in ease-of-use and ergonomic design. In addition, the PIVOT family of solutions offers security capabilities, patented VQO (voice quality optimization) technology, seamless VoWi-Fi roaming, durability, broad telephony support and wireless local area network (WLAN) interoperability, and predictable return on investment (ROI).

Available in July 2015, the PIVOT:S will support specialized, workplace-specific applications through Spectralink AIMS partners (Application, Integration and Management Solutions). This enables users to customize their devices to their unique workflow requirements and opens new opportunities for end-user efficiency solutions.
