Spero Pain Relief Therapy, LLC Announces Opening of Pain Relief Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada

Third Clinic Opens of Fourteen Clinics Planned for Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Southern California Utilizing New Calmare® Pain Therapy Technology

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - May 6, 2011) - Spero Pain Relief Therapy, LLC (Spero) announced today the opening of the company's third of fourteen planned pain relief clinics. The Las Vegas clinic's address is 2649 Wigwam Parkway Suite #101 Henderson, Nevada (Ph: 702-558-0938). Other clinics to be opened in the next few months include locations in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Provo and Ogden, Utah. All Spero clinics are utilizing the innovative Calmare® Pain Therapy Treatment pain management system from Competitive Technologies, Inc. (OTCQX: CTTC).

Spero opened its second clinic in Salt Lake City ten weeks ago located at 1377 E. 3900 S., Salt Lake City, UT 84124 (Ph: 435-656-1916). Since the first day of its opening, Spero's Salt Lake City clinic has been treating patients that have been frustrated and discouraged by current therapies for their chronic pain. The company will be opening its next clinic in Los Angeles, California in the next few weeks.

Dr. Robert Chalmers, M.D., Director and Founder of Spero Pain Relief Therapy, said, "Since the opening of our first clinic in St. George, Utah, I have treated numerous patients suffering from chronic pain. The more patients that I have witnessed having their pain reduced dramatically and, in many cases, becoming pain-free, the more convinced I am that the Calmare technology will be considered a major advancement in the successful treatment of chronic pain."

Dr. Chalmers continued, "Since our recent opening of our new Salt Lake City clinic, we have been inundated by inquiries from potential patients not only in the Salt Lake City area, but also by many pain sufferers wanting to know when we may be opening a clinic in their area. Now we have opened our clinic in Las Vegas and expect to open another clinic in Los Angeles in the next few weeks. As a physician, I can truly say nothing is more satisfying than to be involved in introducing a pain relief therapy that, based on my experience, has a high degree of success in relieving pain."

A recent patient of Dr. Chalmers suffering from phantom limb syndrome said, "I wear a prosthesis under my right knee, yet I was experiencing intense pain from my right toes -- toes I no longer had. My pain level was pretty consistently about 6 to 7 and I was reliant upon pain meds to get me through the day. After hearing about other patient's experiences with this new technology, I went through ten sessions with some skepticism. After the first few treatments, my pain level was going down and staying down with me ending up with a pain score of 2. I no longer rely on the medications because my current pain level is such a great improvement."

The Calmare® Pain Therapy Treatment medical device technology is a non-invasive medical device for the treatment of high-intensity oncologic and neuropathic pain, including pain resistant to traditional painkillers such as morphine and other drugs which often have negative side effects and have the risk of addiction. Calmare® directs a low electrical current to the patient's central nervous system through electrodes placed topically on the patient's skin on either side of the pain area. Utilizing proprietary electrical impulse algorithms programmed in the Calmare® system, the technology targets the body's C-fiber pathway (which transmits slower and chronic pain signals) versus the acute pain pathway. Instead of "blocking" the pain message which is what traditional TENS therapy does, these electrical signals "re-program" the brain to recognize the pain signal as "normal" and can result in long lasting pain relief. The patented Calmare® technology offers clinicians with a non-invasive and non-narcotic therapy for the relief of chronic pain.
