Spescom Software Awarded Major Contract by Leading Nuclear Utility

Constellation Energy Contract Valued at $750,000 for Deployment of eB Across Nuclear Fleet

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 6, 2005 -- Spescom Software Inc (OTC BB: SPCO), a leading developer of enterprise content, configuration and change management software solutions for mission-critical industrial applications, today announced that Constellation Energy, a leading east coast power utility has awarded the company a contract valued at approximately $750,000 for the supply and implementation of a Corrective Action application based on the eB platform throughout its nuclear fleet.

The contract was awarded after an extensive competitive analysis and cost justification by Constellation Energy. In terms of the deployment, the eB Corrective Action application will be used by plant personnel to capture all events, observations, deviations, problem reports, non-conformances, self assessments, operational experience, requests for changes, etc. that are identified on the plant. These may relate to the plant systems, structures and components as well as to procedures, persons, processes, documents, records, etc used to operate and maintain the plant. The eB Corrective Action application will record, track, escalate and resolve all these events ensuring complete visibility of the status of each event until it is successfully closed whilst maintaining full records of all actions related to the event. It forms a core 24/7 information management system required to operate a complex plant.

"We are very pleased that Constellation Energy has selected our eB Corrective Action application for deployment across its enterprise," commented Keith Stentiford, CEO of Spescom. "Their decision shows the confidence they have in using eB in mission-critical applications and further strengthens Spescom's position as a leading player in the nuclear industry."

"With the recent signing of the 2005 Energy Bill by President George Bush and the resurgence of interest in nuclear power to solve the country's growing energy needs, the company is well positioned to capitalize on the significant spending that is anticipated to occur over the next few years as new nuclear plants are licensed and brought online," added Mr Stentiford.
