Spescom Software Joins the Mainframe Migration Alliance

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 18, 2006 -- Spescom Software, Inc. (OTCBB: SPCO), a leading provider of enterprise content and configuration management solutions, announced today that it joined the Mainframe Migration Alliance (MMA) with Microsoft Corp. and other key industry partners to help companies migrate mission-critical enterprise applications from their proprietary mainframe computers onto smaller, flexible and cost-effective systems running Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

Spescom, like other members of the MMA, is focused on making mainframe migrations easier and more efficient for customers.

"Joining the MMA alliance is consistent with Spescom's commitment to the Microsoft platform and to assist alliance members, customers and prospects in reducing operational budgets and meeting their business objectives," stated Pierre De Wet, Spescom's Vice President Operations.

Organizations are faced with reducing large mainframe maintenance budgets and the movement to upgrade to newer technology platforms. Using the eB product suite based on Windows Server 2003 and the Microsoft .NET platform, Spescom has successfully helped customers achieve business benefits.

"We are very pleased to welcome Spescom as a member of the Mainframe Migration Alliance," said Spyros Sakellariadis, director, Mainframe Alliance Program at Microsoft Corp. "Spescom is already contributing to the success of the MMA with migrations like AmerenUE's Callaway Nuclear Power Plant who migrated to the Microsoft platform and completely replaced 13 mainframe applications, resulting in greater flexibility and cost savings."

Since initial deployment in 2001 at AmerenUE's Callaway nuclear power plant, Spescom's eB product has grown its footprint to become one of the core information management platforms at the plant. It has completely replaced multiple mainframe applications, automatically captures and manages all plant records in electronic format, manages the Callaway Equipment List (CEL), has streamlined the Nuclear Engineering Design Change process and is tightly integrated with Callaway's work management, corrective action and equipment reliability applications.
