WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - September 9, 2008) - SPi Publishing, a global provider of
editorial, content production, and business process outsourcing solutions
(BPO) for publishers and other information providers, announced today the
renewal of its contract with the highly cited and internationally
recognized weekly magazine Science. Under the new contract, SPi will
continue to provide composition and other content production services for
Science, which is published by the American Association for the Advancement
of Science (AAAS).
SPi started working with Science in 2004 by deploying an innovative,
all-electronic composition workflow that enabled quick turnaround times of
less than 48 hours while meeting high quality and reliability benchmarks.
"SPi's collaborative approach and their demonstrated execution in providing
high-quality output with very short turnaround times played a key role in
our decision to extend our partnership," said Wendy Shank, senior
production manager at Science.
Speaking on the occasion, Bill Schieffelin, Senior Vice President, Sales
and Global Account Management said, "Science is one of the critical sources
to which the world turns for scientific information, and the AAAS has
continually set its bar high in terms of production standards for this
esteemed publication. We understand the publication's demanding quality
standards and incredibly fast pace, and we are very pleased that Science
has expressed a continued level of confidence in our team of professionals
through the continuation of our contract."
